The cost of healthcare has been rising steadily over the past few years and essential medical devices and equipment are beyond the reach of many. On the other hand, there is an increase in the number of equipment that has become redundant to their owners due to either patient recovery or in some unfortunate cases, their demise.
With EQCARE-PERBEKAS, Lotusarts has pioneered an exchange to either loan (with little or no cost) or donate medical devices and equipment to needy recipients. In collaboration with PERBEKAS and PEJASMA, Lotusarts is mandated manage, source, and purchase these devices and equipment in bulk to lower costs.
Some examples of the said devices and equipment are wheelchairs, crutches and digital blood pressure monitors. The plan is to gather data on the actual need and to compare them with those currently not in use before deciding on purchases. More items will be added to the list based on the need and availability. This mutually beneficial scheme will help reduce the redundancies, improper disposal, help the needy and create awareness among the population.
This event was officiated by the Deputy Finance Minister II, YB Sim Chee Keong at the KL Customs Complex in Kelana Jaya on the 20th of March 2023 who fully supported the EQCARE-PERBEKAS scheme. He channelled RM20,000 each to PEBEKAS and PEJASMA as a sign of support.
Renutaasan who manages Lotusarts Technology Buddy (M) Sdn. Bhd. leverages the company’s technological expertise to manage this exchange as a way of giving back to the society at large. The launch of EQCARE-PERBEKAS is imminent and it is expected to be an integral part of utilising fully functioning devices and equipment and bring some relief to those who are unable to purchase these medical support items that help improve the quality of life.
